The E Cigarette – An Overview

An e-cigarette is simply an electronic device that vaporizes liquid added to it. The liquid will contain USP-grade PG (Propylene Glycol), or USP-grade VG (Vegetable Glycerin), nicotine, and flavoring.

The propylene glycol is often used in food flavoring, cosmetics, and the smoke seen at rock concerts, and antifreeze.

This cigarette was designed with the goal of being an alternative to smoking but is becoming very popular in its own right. A small, rechargeable battery powers an atomizer that vaporizes (or “vapes”) a solution of nicotine and the vapor is then inhaled by the user.

Since it produces vapor without burning any tobacco, it does not create combustion by-products like traditional cigarettes. The vapor consists mainly of nicotine, water vapor, and flavoring. The vapor produced is nearly odorless and, upon being exhaled, consists of mainly just water vapor. This is why these cigarettes are able to avoid cigarette bans- they produce only water vapor.

Some devices are operated manually with a button, discount cigarettes rather than being triggered automatically using a switch. The device works when the user presses a button, inhaling to draw vapor out of the device. The manually operated battery is cumbersome to some people but has the advantage of preventing vapor production being activated unintentionally.

Automatic batteries are becoming increasingly reliable, and less likely to be unintentionally triggered by wind, such as when car windows are down. Many of the newer versions with automatic batteries can be used outdoors, without fear of being triggered by windy conditions.

Once assembled, the cigarette needs no preparation to use. You just put the device in your pocket or purse, take it out and vape whenever you feel like it. You can enjoy it for a complete day if you make sure your battery is fully charged, and the cartridge is full.

These cigarettes come in all sizes, shapes, flavors, and costs. An average starter kit would probably cost you around $50-$70, but there are some more inexpensive kits available.

The cost of vaping, following the initial investment, will be less than smoking.

Considerations when buying a starter kit

The most vital component is the battery. All other components have a much shorter lifespan, requiring more frequent replacements.

Consider the battery charge lifespan. The longer you are able to use the battery without recharging it, the better. Most people prefer to begin with a cigarette-looking battery because that is what they are used to seeing, but the downside is a smaller charge. Personal charging cases are available that can be recharging your battery when not in use. Getting the longest battery will ensure that it will be able to hold more charge.

Are components refillable?

Most cartridges and cartomizers can be refilled numerous times, making the e-cigarette an, even more, cost-effective alternative to traditional smoking. Refilling the nicotine liquid is very easy, and keeps your expenses very low. It can be helpful to buy some extra e-juice with your first order. All that is required is to pull the soft cap out and add a few drops.

Most kits include a USB wall adapter that will allow you to recharge from a PC or even a wall outlet. Car chargers are also available and are usually sold separately.
